A Soft Launch
A New chapter in our Community’s Story
The WWeaV community is growing, bringing together more voices, stories and perspectives. As we connect through our writing, we also discover something we share: a love for reading. We are writers, but we are readers too, drawn to stories that move us, ideas that challenge us and words that stay with us.
Starting a book club feels like a natural next chapter for WWeaV Magazine – ‘Warps, Wefts, Voices, Stories with emotional appeal’, a space to read together, exchange thoughts and get to know one another through the books we explore.
One book. One month. Many Perspectives
Every month, we will choose and read one book, with selections planned in advance through polls and discussions in our WhatsApp group. We will explore a different genre each month, making room for familiar favourites and discoveries beyond our usual bookshelves.
We will meet once a month, preferably on the last Saturday or Sunday, at a time decided together. Our conversations will welcome different interpretations, questions and reflections. You don’t need to have a literary analysis ready. Just bring your curiosity and your experience of the book.
Room to Grow Richer Together
As our book club finds its rhythm, we can gradually introduce new ways to engage:
- Short reads, shared reflections: A short text or piece of prose can be shared in the group, inviting each member to reflect and discuss.
- A different host, a fresh approach: Each member will have an opportunity to helm a book club meeting, bringing their own style, questions and ideas to the conversation.
Beyond the Meetings
Our discussions need not end when the meeting does. Reflections, reviews and ideas sparked by our reading can find a place in WWeaV’s monthly editions and on the WWeaV website, extending the conversation to our wider community.
