Aparna Singh is the Co-Founder of TapGro, a revolutionary beauty-tech startup that is leveraging B2B SaaS for empowering today’s beauty industry players, including salons, spas, individual artists, et al.
Aparna’s Background
Aparna, who hails from a humble family background with two siblings, was born and brought up in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. She was raised by loving parents (her father is a government official and her mother a lawyer) who always encouraged her to work hard and dream big. Besides being a studious kid with good grades throughout her school years, Aparna was also an active participant across numerous extra-curricular activities – cultural, sports and a lot more!
Aparna’s Academic and Professional Background
After completing high school, Aparna pursued her B. Tech., Computer Science from Amity University, Noida. Thereafter, she began her career working as a Software Engineer with HCL Technologies. Over the next few years, Aparna gained valuable professional experience working with multiple reputable companies across Delhi-NCR, constantly learning and growing along the way. Although in the male-dominated arena of techies, making her mark was not easy for Aparna, yet she never failed to navigate through and emerge victorious out of various problems/challenges and complex situations, which in turn raised her confidence and self-belief over time. Her last full-time stint was with Cashify as Product Manager.
The Inception of TapGro
At one of the previous companies where she worked, Aparna had met her (now) co-founder Gaurav Tandon, who was her colleague back then. Gaurav and Aparna bonded with each other basis the shared ideal of pursuing a business venture on their own and simultaneously attempting to make a positive impact by solving a real-time problem through the aid of technology. Over the years, they realised that they have complementary skills, and hance decided to join forces with each other for starting-up together. After several months of market research and planning, finally the duo decided to quit their high-paying corporate jobs to kickstart their entrepreneurial dream – and that’s how TapGro came to being as a bootstrapped startup in early-2023.
Beauty-Tech Startup
Only a few months after stepping into entrepreneurship, Aparna’s life has today taken a complete u-turn as compared to her 9-to-5 traditional working routine. Pushing beyond her comfort zones constantly as the cofounder of an emerging beauty-tech startup, Aparna now looks forward every day to cherishing the entrepreneurial hustle, which involves a lot of problem-solving and tackling challenges head-on. Because, she believes that she has found her life’s purpose and meaning in building TapGro as a pioneering all-in-one SaaS platform for the beauty industry, and in the process empowering beauty professionals worldwide with cutting-edge tools, personalized solutions, and a transformative approach to business management.
Aparna the Multi-tasker
At TapGro, Aparna wears many hats on a day-to-day basis, while leading her team and spearheading almost all the major verticals or key operational areas of the business – including Tech, Design, Marketing, Branding, Operations, Sales and so on. Her vision for TapGro is simple – to create the easiest and most useful beauty-tech app, making it a no-brainer for any user to operate/run software and get their beauty business digitised.
Goals
Over the next few months, her pivotal short-term business goal for the startup is to achieve substantial user sign-ups for the TapGro app post its launch, with targeted marketing campaigns, promotions, and partnerships, and thereafter the next frontier would be to prioritise and address user feedback in order to enhance the platform’s usability. Whereas over the long term, Aparna envisions TapGro becoming the leading, go-to business management app for all beauty industry businesses (existing and upcoming ones).
Aparna Beyond Work
Beyond work, Aparna likes to travel and try out various types of cuisines. She is also a great orator and a trained classical singer with a fine taste in music.
