Hailing from Deoli, Rajasthan, Nitika’s formative years were defined by discipline, curiosity, and resilience. An alumna of the Symbiosis Institute of International Business with a BSc in Biotechnology and an MBA, she possesses a rare ability to bridge the worlds of science and enterprise. Nitika’s early career saw her working in close collaboration with industry icon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw at Biocon, where she garnered invaluable experience in global marketing, international business development, product innovation, and high-level negotiations, insights that continue to shape her distinct leadership style.

Her First Step into the Dermatology Business

Nitika subsequently led Business Development at Glenmark, where her strategic vision was instrumental in expanding the company’s dermatology portfolio and launching groundbreaking solutions in the Indian market. After a brief maternity sabbatical, she joined Bristol Myers Squibb, further honing her expertise in commercial analytics, market research, and strategic planning. Her seven-year tenure at OPPI was marked by influential leadership in market research and policy advocacy, driving national healthcare dialogues. Today, Sonrisa embodies the culmination of Nitika’s journey, a brand where authentic Korean skincare, scientific rigour, and purposeful innovation converge to elevate the standards of modern beauty.

Immersed in Korea’s world-renowned skincare industry, she was profoundly inspired by its commitment to simplicity, ethical sourcing, scientific advancement, and respect for skin biology. Identifying a significant gap in the Indian market, Nitika envisioned a brand that would introduce the transformative power of Korean biotechnology to Indian consumers through meticulously crafted, accessible skincare.
