WWeaV ‘Bonds of Love’ Edition – A Review

WWeaV ‘Bonds of Love’ Edition – A Review

A Summary of WWeaV’s February 2026 Edition – Bonds of Love

February edition ‘Bonds of Love’ is an amalgamation of different threads leading to same destination. It offers something for everyone – interweaving travel, emotions, selflove, the play of cosmos, sensory pleasures, flow mindset, movement and adventure – all rooted in love.

Tethered in Love – Cover Story

The cover story ‘Tethered in Love’ is a thoughtful mosaic that Saranaya has constructed. It takes you through the lives of five protagonists, the cities that they have lived in, and what keeps them ‘tethered’ to these cities. The  story explores how a place remains deeply tethered to us, not prying itself apart from us even when life takes us elsewhere. Through WWeaV’s contributors sharing their personal experiences, the narrative gets vivid in imagery and intimate detail. While everyone comes from different background and conditioning, what binds them is the true love for their cities they have come from and the cities they now call home.  The unchangeable metronome that sets everyone’s tune and acts as an anchor to their changing life experiences is what the cover story brings into notice. The last piece of the mosaic, “Is home a place or a frequency? Is it a vessel you step into or a frequency you emit?” neatly ties up the journeys together, and concludes that it’s a intangible essence of a place, that travels across coordinates, continuing to shape who we are.

Let’s plunge deeper into some of the features of this issue.

The Inevitable Post-Colonialist Self – WAYS

Rahul’s The Inevitable Post-Colonialist Self delves on the dilemma which we all can relate to. The problem of belonging and fitting in has never been so tough.  Mainly when we are not fully arrived to establish our hold out of country and we are far distanced from the local world. The point he makes about the writers especially the NRI writers is very true. Their preconceived notions have eclipsed their true view of our society. As he rightly puts, there is so much to India. Somehow the colonial mindset is still there, co-opting us in different facets, emphasizing that we are still in imperialistic hold even if we are free.

AI and A(bh)I – WAYS

Abhijith’s AI and A(bh)I – beautifully articulated need of the hour topic. I write for several brands. I have always made sure that I don’t take help of AI mainly because as a writer last thing you want is someone pointing it as plagiarised copy. Also, the original work speaks volumes even if AI brings a nuance and structure. But this article made me realise that even if we take help of AI, we are the CEO of the work – the executive function rests on us and AI is like an intern working using the directions of the CEO. The CEO analogy hits the nail. The builder-architect framework he speaks about is so true as we are the architect of our ideas and AI is slowly putting one blocks against another to support our architecture.

Nautanki of Survival – WAVELENGTHS

Pratishta’s Nautanki of Survival – A fresh whiff of air in the intense flow of writeups.  How a meme shared between siblings translates the vibe without being text heavy was interesting. A slang being a secret code to infiltrate through the groups and helps a person fit in in a culture different from their own. It reminds me of creole and pidgin – especially how the latter was used to simplify the language and was used between two people who speak different languages. Now slang is a new pidgin spoken to embrace a new culture and get acknowledged by a new culture. The line in the article says it all – you gain respect by understanding the song, not by stealing the microphone. Pratishta, through this piece, shows how learning and unlearning the code can act to your advantage and  breaks the barriers in a new land.

The Cosmic Blueprint – WITHIN

Saurabh’s article The Cosmic Blueprint was an eye opener for me. He has created a mental imagery of stars and planets through his article. The article stresses on astrology being the language of the universe and an astrology chart is deeply karmic and not merely astronomical. I have wondered how two people born on the same date share different qualities and attributes which through this article, I could decode. The karmic experiences, the lack of inner work, gifts etc make them unique. By learning the play of astrology and the astronomical factors, we can look at ourselves and others in different light – mainly from the place of understanding and less judgement. Astrology is not fatalistic but it is deeply liberating – this quote stands out and tells us to view this field with kinder eyes because it is informing us the play of celestial figures and letting us take steps to manage the effects.

Bhagoria – A Festival of Elopement – WORLDLY

Chandan’s Bhagoria – A Festival of Elopement is an insightful piece on the city’s waking up and being alive to the scents of this iconic festival – Bhagoria. It gushes with love and spreadeagles around the perimeter of the villages with a theme of socialising and connecting one to the roots. Reading this on Holi gave me a sense of pride and wider understanding which made me embrace the color festival with more reverence. How the same everyday place comes alive in the week before the festival of colours, the experience and expression of the locals, the swell of place with throngs of people not just in the fixed ground but moving across towns and villages says a lot about how this festival has taken a deep hold in everyone’s hearts. Last few paragraphs brought the festival and the place in front of my eyes. Long before we had known about balls and wedding season in the west which we see in series now but Chandan guided us to look right at our roots to see the same pomp and show exhibited by our locals in the haats.

Chocolate Odyssesys – WONDER

Deepa’s Chocolate Odysseys article tells a lot about her experience working with chocolate brands. The article talks about how chocolate is not just a language of love but this indulgence goes through a lot its making to refine itself to a state of fine balance. Enjoyed reading through different places of significance in the history of chocolate and how all these places have their own process of getting the chocolate right, steadily rooted to their own culture. The article seamlessly transitions to introduce the story and journey of Pastry Chef. His journey is impressive and tells us that artistic mastery comes from dedication, consistency and curiosity – the three pillars very fundamental in any passion. This piece made me see chocolate more as a slow, quiet and mindfully made delicacy that has a character of its own.

Let’s Talk Money – WEALTH

Arjun’s Let’s Talk Money – The Quiet Architecture of Financial Care is a need of the hour conversation one must have with their partners. The piece explores myriad ways one can establish a system around them to manage the finances so that the care flows without friction. Financial conversations don’t generally feature in everyday routine between spouses. It is mostly a curative affair where conversations can tend to culminate into conflict. With new age tools and methods mentioned in Arjun’s piece, one can seamlessly integrate the financial care in their routine and ease the anxiety and simmering tension that financial woes ensue.

Introducing Flow Mindset – WORTHY

Sridevi’s Introducing Flow Mindset asks us to let our knowledge flow and branch out in different directions and not confine it within ourselves. Through the banana plant overlooking her window, she brings to attention the flow mindset –  one notch higher than growth mindset where we do not just grow but also allow what we gave gained to move to different frontiers. The piece is a gentle reminder that what we have should not only be nurtured but also be nudged further to benefit others. She also mentions that what we give always comes back with renewed return in the form of different and unique perspectives, which is very true.

Turning Inward – WITHIN

The column on mental health Turning Inward – From Conversations to Compassion, by Saranya might, in her opinion, seem ‘clichéd’, but it is a wake-up call for all of us who choose others over ourselves. The comparison of ‘wearing your own mask, before you help others’ is very apt and would resonate so well with all the empaths. ‘Bonds of Love’ should and must begin with self-love.
