After years of fostering a community grounded in craft, identity, and representation, Gully Labs is ready to unveil three extraordinary, one-off sneaker pairs, each a testament to real lives, authentic emotions, and cherished cultural legacies. The Community Drop represents a bold reclamation of Indian storytelling, reminding us that true identity, when expressed through personal experiences, is richer, deeper, and undeniably impactful.
The Red
At the heart of this release is Aryan Katoch, a musician whose work pays homage to the stunning landscapes of the mountains he calls home. His design, GL001 Buransh Red, is an audacious celebration of Himachal Pradesh, intricately crafted with traditional Kullu weaving. Featuring striking Kullu cap fabrics, a woven tongue shroud, and delicate Baaz embroidery symbolising the mountain spirit, Buransh Red is a striking manifestation of the belief that identity should never be subdued.
The Green
The second pair, GL001 Khoj Green, channels the spirit of adventure, inspired by Sathvik. What began as a simple birthday wish unfolded into a one-of-a-kind sneaker – a testament to how personal stories often become design journeys at Gully Labs. Rooted in the vibrant muggu patterns of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the pair transforms traditional motifs into a contemporary masterpiece. With rugged textures and Telugu script branding that exude regional pride, Khoj Green embodies the essence of exploration, capturing a fresh perspective while staying tethered to its cultural roots.
The Blue
Last but not least, GL002 Aangan Blue reflects the serene, handmade tranquillity of Jatin Maggo’s Ghar 1964 in Shoja. Crafted for indoor comfort while respecting simplicity, this mule features soft, sky-toned suede and a cosy fur lining, honouring the intimate details that make a space feel like home. Aangan Blue is for those who find a haven in the quiet moments of life.
Together, these three pairs tell a singular story: identity is handmade.
