There are journeys you take and then there are journeys that stay with you.

We’ve just returned from the northern belt of this country, carrying back not just ingredients, but stories. Stories of people, landscapes, and moments that quietly shape the way we cook and the way we see food.

From our trysts with Lakadong turmeric to cooking with wild stinging nettle, from wandering in search of fiddle head ferns to sitting with mountain communities who welcomed us with warmth that needed no language this has been a journey of discovery in its purest form.

Along winding paths, old women would gently touch our heads in blessing, inviting us in for mountain water, and sometimes, a simple mealserved with sweeping views of the Dhauladhar range. There is something deeply magical, almost mystical, about the mountains. Enough to make you wonder… what if we just stayed?

This Himalayan culinary journey is not just about food. It’s about memory, connection, and a deeper understanding of where flavour truly comes from.
